Madjosse Venancio

Madjosse is a very special boy who loves playing soccer and superheroes.

He was found by the police on the street because he was lost. He was brought to social services and then came to live with Iris Min. Machava.

Thanks to sponsorship, he can attend school and build a hopeful future.

Gideon Omondi

Gideon dreams of walking on his own, going to school for the first time and playing freely with other children. Gideon needs support because his physical condition prevents him from walking independently, going to school and playing with other children his age. Without this help, Gideon is at risk of continued isolation. Support, including physical therapy and education, will not only help him walk and learn, but also restore his self-confidence, dignity and sense of belonging.

Gerson Aderto

Gerson is only 6 years old, but he dreams of becoming a police officer later. For now, we believe above all that he is allowed to be a child: happy, safe and surrounded by people who care for him. Our contact picked up Gerson together with his two older brothers, far away from the project, literally in the middle of nowhere. They lived in a very shabby house with no food, under the care of a grandmother with dementia. Nothing is known about their parents at this time. Gerson needs a safe and structured environment, where he will receive stability, attention and care. In February, he will start in grade 1 (group 3) of elementary school, an important step in his young life.

Vasco Sitõe

Vasco wants to become healthy above all else. Now he is still sick with HIV/AIDS, but later he dreams of becoming a doctor to help other sick people.

In his young life, Vasco has been through a lot. He was born in South Africa to Mozambican parents, both of whom died. In 2021, he came to live with a great-aunt, but there the situation was unstable and he was often left to himself.

Vasco was born with HIV. After a period without medication, he was regularly hospitalized. Fortunately, he is doing better now and faithfully taking his medication again.

Thanks to support, Vasco can continue to recover, go to school and build a hopeful future where he can be a child again.

Milton Aderto

Milton and his two younger brothers, Lionel and Gerson, are happy that they now live in the children's home, in a safe place. For them, that means three meals a day, school and a stable, safe environment. Milton dreams of becoming a director later.

Before he came to the center, they lived with their demented grandmother in a very shabby house, without enough food or basic services. We do not know at this time if Milton's parents are still alive.

Now Milton can concentrate on school and growing up without worrying about daily living needs. In February, he will enter grade 7. We pray that he will come to know God as Father as he builds his future.

Ropani Ngongi

Ropani loves to play and run with her little peers. She is a cheerful and energetic girl. She is at the top of her class at school.

Her parents were in refugee camps and the mother went back to Sudan to complete her nursing degree, which will take 2-3 years. Meanwhile, little Ropani is with us.

The mother finds it difficult to find her higher education and the father is not present in the family. Ropani deserves an education along with other children. She would like to have a sponsor to help her.

Maureen Jepkosgei

Maureen wants to be a teacher and loves soccer.

She comes from a poor family and became pregnant after being abused by a classmate. The boy denied the pregnancy and her parents could not provide a safe environment for the child. Because Maureen is still very young, it is impossible for her to care for her child, Abigael, while also finishing school.

Her teacher transferred her to Esther Home, where Maureen was taken in. Here she can resume her education while caring for her child. Thanks to Esther Home, this was made possible.

Thanks to sponsorship, Maureen is able to return to school and receive the support she needs to care for her child.

Irene Achieng

Miriam Taita

Miriam wants to be a doctor and loves to play soccer.

Miriam stayed with her paternal great-grandmother; she is totally orphaned. Her parents died when she was young. Later the grandmother passed on that she had to stay with her cousins, the man took advantage of the situation and raped her. In the process of becoming pregnant, she then moved to another village. There she found a benefactor, but the benefactor had a small income and was unable to have a child in a small house and take care of it. They explained the situation to Miriam's class teacher who was connected to Esther home. Esther Home allowed her into the house and she has now resumed school and is also taking care of her son.

Thanks to sponsorships, Miriam is able to go back to school and is helped to care for her child.

Abigael Cherop

Abigael enjoys cuddling and playing with the other children.

She is the daughter of Maureen, a teenage mother currently living at Esther Home. Abigael was born at home to a very poor family. After giving birth, Maureen wanted to go back to school, but she had no one to take care of her baby daughter. Thanks to Esther Home, this has become possible, giving both mother and child a chance for a better future.

Abigael needs support to meet her basic daily needs such as food, shelter, clothing and medical care.
