Arthur loves the childcare centre and enjoys playing with the other children and football. He doesn't know yet what he wants to be when he grows up. <\/p>\n
Arthur's mother died and Arthur and his sister were left behind with their father. The father is sometimes away from home all day looking for work and sometimes comes home when the children are already asleep. An unsafe situation. <\/p>\n
A week before Arthur and Rahima arrived at the children's center, Rahima had burned her hand and there was no help. There is no family in the area because they are from northern Mozambique. Rahima and Arthur were born with HIV.
\nArthur is very small for his age, this could be the result of aids. Arthur takes medication for this. The children love their father very much so we see if the children can go to their father in the weekend. During the day he goes to school and they participate in the activities in the children's center.
\nUpdate September 2023:
\nArtur is now 11 years old and still a beautiful boy, obedient and eager to learn more of the Bible, he was baptized a few months ago! He is caring for his younger sister and likes to go home to his father for a week during the school holidays. He is in the 5th grade.
\nUPDATE December 2023:
\nArtur has moved on to the 6th grade of primary school. He is still a responsible and serious child, but also has a sense of humor. During the school holidays he will probably go home for one or two weeks, together with his sister Rahima. A week ago he fell hard on the back of his head and was unconscious for a while. In the hospital he was allowed to go home the same evening, fortunately. <\/p>\n
