He lives with his older sister Beatriz in the orphanage. The reason is that their mother can be very violent when she has been drinking. Americo was so afraid to go home that he ran away and went to the orphanage. The mother lives a bit further away and comes to church every now and then. It is nice to see that Beatriz and Americo, despite everything, take care of their mother and each other.<br \/>\nUpdate September 2023: Americo is now 18 years old and lives with his father. We still help with his living expenses. School has gone a bit wrong this year, but we hope that next year he can study in the evenings and still finish high school or take a course. <\/p>\n<p>Thanks to sponsorship, Americo can go to school and build a hopeful future.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Americo geniet van het voetballen met de jongens en het zorgen voor de andere kinderen.
