Emily dreams of a good future with a good job.<\/p>\n
Emily was brought to the orphanage by a couple who had picked her up in Quelimane in the north of Mozambique. Although Emily did not know this couple well, the farewell was dramatic. Probably out of fear she hit and bit everyone who came near. After an hour she calmed down, Emily had a difficult start but was able to find her way completely. Emily lived with her grandmother in Quelimane, who drank a lot. Her mother died. Emily is on antiretroviral medication and at the moment she is fortunately healthy.
\nUpdate September 2006: Emily is now 18 years old and is in the 9th grade (high school) she gets extra tutoring and we hope she will pass this year. Last week we suddenly had a visit from her biological family, a sister of her grandmother and her daughter, a big surprise, especially since they live nearby. Emily is now going to establish contact with them and we will see what this means for her future! <\/p>\n
